Shifting gears on your Gen3 ebike is a breeze.
The Groove, Stride, and Outcross feature a 1 x 7 speed drivetrain which means you have 7 gears and they are all in the back. Therefore your only shifter will be on the right side of your handlebars.
- Pedal to shift. You must be pedaling when you shift.
- The shifter has a gear indicator identifying what gear you are in.
- A higher number represents a higher gear (harder)
- A lower gear represents a lower gear (easier)
- Push the upper button/trigger to shift up into a higher gear.
- Push the lower trigger to shift down into a lower gear.
The Flex features a 3 x 7 speed drivetrain equaling 21 gears. In addition to the right shifter for the rear derailleur the Flex features a front derailleur controlled by the left shifter.
- Avoid shifting the front gears when climbing a hill or applying a large amount of force to the pedals.
- Push the upper button/trigger to shift down into a lower gear.
- Push the lower trigger to shift up into a higher gear.
- Avoid cross chaining. Cross chaining is have your chain run from small gear to small gear or big gear to big gear.
